Briefing on the latest developments for DAP members

DAP leaders briefed DAP members and leaders from Perak on the latest developments in the Perak state government at Chin Woo Hall Ipoh, Perak at 3.00pm on 9/2/09.

More than 1000 loyal members attended the gathering to get first hand informations from the party's leaders, including YB Sdr Lim Kit Siang, the reason being that the mass media which are controlled by BN usually gives inaccurate reports on us most of the time.

We pledged loyalty to 'Raja kita' by singing Negaraku which we always do in all DAP functions. The elected representatives to the State Assembly first and foremost expressed their sincere thanks and gratitude to leaders at every level and members who had supported them all this while especially during this trying time. The leaders pledged to continue with the struggles and not to surrender the people's choice of government to the BN until and unless the DUN is dissolved to pave the way for the democratic process of a by- election.

We in the DAP are still in spirits despite all the uncertainties for the battle is not lost yet, and definitely not the war either! This is because the people are behind the DAP leadership.
Dato' Ngeh Koo Ham briefed all the members on the action plan of the Pakatan Rakyat Government. He said the legal team is deliberating on where to file the suits on the illegal Menteri Besar in the person of Datuk Dr Zamri Abdul Kadir. There are two options, either to file in Ipoh or Kuala Lumpur. Points of considerations are the preceding Judge and the locality of event. The suits may include the illegal swearing in of the new Excos which is scheduled to be tomorrow 10/2/09.

Dato' Ngeh also wants the court to decide on the legality of the three ADUNs [BA: who resigned from the Pakatan Rakyat to become independent] as soon as possible and impartially so that the crisis can be resolved as soon as possible. The validity of the newly sworn-in Menteri Besar will also be challenged in a court of law for there can never be two menteris besar in a state. Dato' Ngeh also challenged Datuk Seri Najib to call for a by-election to validate his claim that the people supported him in his draconian, illegal and most dirty power grab in the state of Perak.

Dato' Ngeh also wanted him to clear his name from Altanthuya, Eurocopter, Submarine and other cases, to which he has been linked, before taking over as Prime Minister.

Aside from the legal processes, the leadership is also going to the grassroots to explain what is going on and we encourage all the peace loving people and all who still want the democratic process to prevail to come and support all the ceramahs organised throughout the state. Do call the nearest DAP branch for more informations.

Dato' Ngeh also likened all these crises to 'birth pains' after which a mother nevertheless rejoices to see her new born baby. To this effect the party or the Pakatan Rakyat can now be wiser in judging when to trust their members, to 'chastise', and to 'sieve' out the chaff of the opportunistsfrom the grain of those who are the people's servants. All these will help to PREPARE PAKATAN RAKYAT to take over the Federal Government. One source(not from PR): YB Ngeh, You will be back earlier than you are expected!

All the 1000 over people attended the briefing today unanimously called for the dissolution of the state legislative assembly by raising their hands as shown in the picture above.

YB Sdr Lim Kit Siang reminded the people that DAP:
1) calls for the dissolution og the state legislative assembly and fresh elections.
2) does not accept a state with 2 Menteri Besars more so when one is illegally sworn-in.
3) does not recognise the 3 DUNs who had resigned.

Let us hope that HRH will do the wisest thing by dissolving the DUN and let HRH's subjects exercise their democratic right to elect the people they want to represent them. In this way the state will have the wisest, most capable and able leaders to lead HRH's State of Perak, land of GRACE to greater heights and prosperity for the people to enjoy and others to envy at. Daulat Tuanku!
