MCA & Chua Soi Lek proven no power in BN. Will him respond to Najib's snub?

MEDIA STATEMENT

Media Conference (I) by DAP Perak State Committee at DAP Perak HQ, Ipoh on 4th April 2013 in response to the Dissolution of Parliament on 3rd April 2013

Chua Soi Lek and MCA proven to have no say and irrelevant in BN. Will Chua Soi Lek respond to Najib’s snub?

The Perak DAP State Committee and the people of Perak have long awaited the dissolution of Parliament by Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Najib Bin Tun Razak. The dissolution of Parliament announced by Dato’ Seri Najib Bin Tun Razak yesterday (3/4/2013) however, came as a complete surprise. This is because the MCA President, Dato’ Seri Chua Soi Lek has on the day before (Tuesday, 2/4/2013) stated that Dato’ Seri Najib has informed him that there was still plenty of time before the 13th General Election.

DAP has repeatedly asserted in the past that though MCA is a component party in the ruling BN coalition government it has no power or say in the decisions made by the BN Government.

The above said episode proves that not only MCA has no power or say in the decisions made by the BN Government, MCA is irrelevant in the BN Government.

MCA was clearly not consulted on the appropriate date for the dissolution of Parliament and PM Dato’ Seri Najib thinks that it is alright to mislead and takes MCA off guard. Will the MCA President, Chua Soi Lek who claims to be brave and vocal respond to this snub?

I hope voters who still habour hopes that MCA will be able to represent them will be convinced that MCA is a lost hope.

Dated this 4th day of April 2013.

NGEH KOO HAM

DAP Perak Chairman &

DAP Deputy Secretary General
