613,490 votes(54.75%) vs 507,123 votes(45.25%),who won?

MEDIA STATEMENT

The people of Perak have been cheated of the more popular government that they deserve. PR Perak won 54.75% of the votes but BN forms the State Government
_________________________________________________________

Pakatan Rakyat (PR) obtained 613,490 votes while Barisan Nasional (BN) obtained 507,123 votes for the State Constituencies contested in Perak for the just concluded 13th General Election but BN is forming the next Perak State Government. This is clearly unfair to the 54.75% of the voters who voted for PR compared to the 45.25% voters who voted for BN. This blatant gerrymandering favours the BN which enable it to win 31 seats compared to the 28 seats obtained by the PR. PR obtained 21% more votes if compared to the votes obtained by BN. The people of Perak have been cheated of a more popular PR State Government.

The PR elected representatives did not attend the swearing ceremony of Dato’ Seri Zambry Bin Abdul Kadir as Menteri Besar this morning because he does deserve the respect due to a Menteri Besar for the following 2 reasons:

i) He did respect the democratic will of the people when BN was not voted into power in the 2008 General Election. On 6/2/2009, he was one of the main players who used undemocratic means in toppling the democratic elected Pakatan Rakyat government of Perak.

ii) This time round, he is appointed as Menteri Besar against the wishes of the majority people of Perak.

I call on the Election Commission to restore the principle of equal representation for each vote in order that the election results will truly reflect the majority will of the people. The just concluded election saw the minority rural poor (many of whom are influenced by the BN government’s hand outs) override the views of the majority urban, better informed and educated Perakians.

11 reasons why Perakians must replace BN with PR as the Perak State & Federal Governments

MEDIA STATEMENT

Media Conference (II) by DAP Perak State Committee at DAP Perak HQ, Ipoh on 4th April 2013 in response to the Dissolution of Parliament on 3rd April 2013

The people of Perak has at least 11 reasons to replace BN with PR as Government in both the Perak State and the Federation Malaysia in the coming 13th General Election.

The people of Perak must be reminded of the dark and tumultuous power grab in Perak on 6/2/2009 by BN.

A survey conducted not long after the power grab showed that PR would have won 40 out of 59 seats had the State Assembly been dissolved and a fresh election been conducted then.

Parliament and the Perak State Assembly have been dissolved yesterday (3/4/2013). Number 11 may be Najib’s favourite number but the people of Perak have a duty to support PR for at least the following 11 reasons:-

1. They must tell all Malaysians and the world that they are principled people who were angry with BN for its power grab in 2009 and will remain angry with BN until BN is punished and justice meted out. They will not be bought with the little goodies that BN recently showered on them which in any case are monies which belong to the people.

2. They must back those who were in the forefront fighting against the power grab. On 6/2/2009, a group of brave Perakians tried to prevent the undemocratic appointment of Dato’ Seri Zambry Bin Abdul Kadir as the Menteri Besar of Perak at the Kuala Kangsar Palace. Some of them risked their lives by laying across the road to prevent the appointment ceremony from taking place. They are now being charged in court and face possible jail sentences. We must show solidarity with them.

3. The economic boom in Perak which would have occurred under PR Perak Government was derailed by the power grab. In 2008 under the PR Government, Perak State registered an investment of RM3.2 billion the highest in the history of Perak. Huge number of local as well as foreign investors were lining up to invest in Perak due to the efficient and graft free PR Perak government. These investors have put on hold their investments awaiting a fresh election to be held which unfortunately did not occur until now.

4. Democracy must be restored in Perak. A strong message must be sent to all that any undemocratic means of power grab is not acceptable. A police state is not acceptable. The police force must not be used to overpower the State Assembly using brutal force. The incident where the legitimate State Assembly Speaker, YB V. Sivakumar being manhandled and imprisoned in order to install BN appointed Speaker must never be allowed to happen again.

5. Laws must be enacted to restore the democratic norms which were violated by BN just to ensure their power grab was successful and preserved. Laws must be enacted to ensure that the Speaker and not the Election Commission decides if an election or a by election needs to be carried out. The place to decide which Assemblyman/woman commands the support of the State Assembly must be conducted in the State Assembly and not at any other place.

6. Dato’ Seri Najib Bin Tun Razak and Dato’ Seri Zambry Bin Abdul Kadir the chief criminals in the power grab must not be allowed to lead the Perak State or the Federation of Malaysia.

7. Land grab by BN leaders and their cronies must be stopped. Since the power grab, Perak BN Government has approved 112,546.7 acres of land equivalent to an area of 455 km in length by 1 km in width. The distance of 455 km is about the distance from Alor Star to Kuala Lumpur ! Most of them approved to cronies and despite repeated demands both within and outside the State Assembly, BN Perak Government under the leadership of Dato’ Seri Zambry has refused to answer as to who the lands were approved to. Billions of Ringgit of the people’s monies were lost as the lands were approved without any open tender. Deserving cases of the landless were however ignored by the BN Government.

8. PM Dato’ Seri Najib has been proven to be a liar. He lied when he said that the Kelantan State Government gave 10,000 acres of land to DAP leaders namely, YB Ngeh Koo Ham and YB Nga Kor Ming. Witnesses have come forward to show that he is suspected of being involved in the murder of Altantuya and the second sodomy charge against Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

9. We need to save Malaysia from bankruptcy. Dato’ Seri Najib is the most irresponsible Prime Minister in the Malaysian history. He adds on about RM50.0 billion every year to our national debt. Our national debt now stands at around RM502.00 billion and if the debt continue to increase at RM50.0 billion a year we will be a bankrupt nation by 2019. Our annual repayment is now at RM22.3 billion and it will take us more than 40 years (taking into account interest on the existing debts to repay the existing loans. RM22.3 billion is about 12.0% of our Government’s yearly income. We have wronged children and grand children by requiring them to settle the debt incurred by us caused by massive corruption and wastages.

10. In solidarity with the hundreds of thousands of Malaysians who have come forward in Bersih I, Bersih II and Himpunan Rakyat to demand for clean and fair elections and various other issues affecting us and our environment.

11. The people centric policies as contained PR National Manifesto and the PR Perak Manifesto which will be unveiled soon.

Media statement about the article of Pisau.net

1. Pisau.net has published an article citing factual corrections, clearing me and my PR colleagues of being involved in any corrupt practice.

2. I urge any other parties who have defamed me to follow suit as
there is still room and time to clear Pakatan Rakyat and my name.

3. I hereby extend an olive branch to Pisau.net to redeem himself by
fully meeting my demands, so for the damage he has caused Pakatan Rakyat and myself can be mitigated.

4. Pisau.net must, for the sake of the people, free himself of UMNO/BN crutches to ensure the people of Perak are not going to continue being deceived by the wrongful rule of UMNO/BN.

__________________________________________________________

The blogger who administers the website pisau.net who previously defamed,Tok Guru Nik Aziz, Dato' Sri Nizar, YB Nga Kor Ming and myself through wild and baseless accusations, has partially heeded to the conditions outlined in my letter of demand, through posting an article of 'factual correction' titled

'Pembetulan Fakta Tanah Ngeh dan Nga Di Kelantan.'

Pisau mendapati berlaku percanggahan fakta yang tidak tepat yang diperolehi dari sumber sebelum ini dan berasa bertanggungjawab untuk memperbetulkan demi kebenaran.

The admittance by the blogger that his previous article being factually
incorrect, is yet another piece of evidence that the allegations thrown at myself and my Pakatan Rakyat colleagues are nothing but cheap, irresponsible and repulsive political potshots. This also goes to show that my name is cleared of the previous accusations peddled by Pisau.net.

I hereby, also urge all others who have defamed me to step forward and follow what has been done Pisau.net, to clear my name and free Pakatan Rakyat from the various ridiculous, untrue and slanderous defamations.

Despite the website of Pisau.net being currently inaccessible, rendering the said article to be equally inaccessible, I appreciate the article as a response to my letter of demand. I can only assume that an interested third party whose interest is to continue hoodwinking the public is behind the locking down of Pisau.net.

The above mentioned article also further confirms our previous stand that BN, Zambry and his EXCOs are at such dire desperation, to the extent that blatantly lying in the state assembly has become the only strategy they could come up with, to divert the public's attention from the real scandals perpetrated by themselves.

I feel it important to reiterate some of the key reasons behind my sending of a letter of demand, and consideration to file a defamation suit against Pisau.net.

* As state Chairman of DAP Perak; one third of the three partied coalition of Perak's government in waiting, any form of tarnishing of my name will negatively impact the people's opinion of Pakatan Rakyat Perak as a whole.

* My own personal integrity as a politician and individual, which has been built over the years through my service to the Perakian people and my contribution to our nation building agenda, is at stake if the likes of Pisau.net is allowed to continue their dissemination of falsehoods and blatant lies.

* To safeguard the prospect of a real change for Perakians; to ensure the power of the Perakians is returned to the Perakians, and to restore democracy to our beloved silver state after BN's unlawful power grab in 2009, I feel it essential Pisau.net is called to task to face the responsibility of it's actions.

In my letter of demand to the administrator of Pisau.net, I stipulated that within seven days upon receipt of the said letter he shall -

(i) publish a fullscreen article in the Blog; and

(ii) make a public statement with prominence within the first 5 pages in "Berita Harian", "The New Straits Times", "New Sunday Times", "The Star" and "Sin Chew Daily" ("Newspapers")

- wherein he shall -

(1) completely, unconditionally and irrevocably Withdraw the Article and/or Statements; and

(2) tender an unconditional apology to me;

He shall give me his written assurance and undertaking that he shall not repeat, publish and cause to be repeated and published in any form -

(i) the Article and/or Statements; and

(ii) Any statement of similar meaning, nature and/or effect as that of the Article and/or Statements; and he shall pay to me a proper and suitable sum of damages for the injury to my reputation and loss which I have suffered and continue to suffer.

I welcome this first move to meet my demands yet, I must stress that the article on its own, is far from sufficient action for me to stop the defamation suit that I have planned to file. The above referred article is but one condition out of the several in which I have stipulated, and I believe nothing short of the full list of demands is sufficient to mitigate the damage his irresponsibility has caused.

As a Christian who is taught to forgive, I am now extending for one last time, an olive branch to Pisau.net and all others who have defamed me to right the wrongs that they have done, and to satisfy all that is listed in my letter of demand. It is clear to me, through the language of the above-referred article of correction, that he was likely to be misled by his sources and commissioners, much like most BN cybertroopers.

I hereby urge all others who have defamed me to step forward and follow what has been done Pisau.net, to clear my name and free Pakatan Rakyat from the various ridiculous, untrue and slanderous defamations.

Though it doesn't make his actions any less irresponsible, nor does it make his article any less damaging, it gives me hope that this misdirected soul may simply just be misled by his scheming BN masters.

It is also clear, that BN and Zambry are running out of time, ideas and political capital, as a result of Najib's cowardice refusal to call for the dissolution of Parliament, pressing the former against the wall clutching at straws. Desperate men are borne of desperate times, desperate hearts call for desperate crimes. It is now clearer than ever that BN would now stop at nothing, including committing to heinous act of defaming their opponents with totally fabricated lies, in order to hang on to power.

I hereby stand firm on my demands, with a measure of humility in urging Pisau.net to reach out to my extended olive brand, and do what is needed as stipulated in my letter of demand and above. I urge him to do so for the sake of his own dignity, as well as for the Perakian people. The Perakian
must no longer be oppressed by the wrongful rule of UMNO/BN as another article to prop up their lies and to cover up their sins, is another article denying the People of Perak of a fair, clean and just government.

Finally, I repeat my call in the state assembly, as well as press statements and conferences, for Zambry to answer the land scandals I exposed that started this debacle off in the first place.

What is there hiding in the BN political closet with the disputed land approvals to BN cronies that is so scandalous, that Zambry had to resort to defamation and disgracing the sanctity of the state assembly in order to cover up?

Exposed! ‘BN Sapu Tanah Negeri. Tiada yang Tertinggal. Tiada yang Terpinggir (BN sweeping clean state lands. None Left Out. None Sidelined) II

Exposed! ‘BN Sapu Tanah Negeri. Tiada yang Tertinggal. Tiada yang Terpinggir (BN sweeping clean state lands. None Left Out. None Sidelined) II’

Why  Dato’ Seri Zambry Bin Abdul Kadir approved almost whole of Lumut Town to be developed by Kinta Berkat Sdn Bhd without open tender? What are the terms for the approval? Dato’ Seri Najib Bin Tun Razak must insist that Dato’ Seri Zambry Bin Abdul Kadir be transparent.

On 5th October 2012, I have exposed that Dato’ Seri Zambry Bin Abdul Kadir had approved a 6 acres piece of prime land in the Sitiawan Town Centre to Kinta Berkat Sdn Bhd without open tender with very favourable terms. I have asked numerous questions which Dato’ Seri Zambry Bin Abdul Kadir has refused to answer until today.

I have asked why no open tender was called. I have also asked why premium was reduced from RM4,729,587-00 to only RM52,000-00. Will public funds be use to construct the 44 units of government quarters and the local government depot that were demolished to give way for the project? My 5th October 2012 media statement is attached herewith.

In conjunction with the Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Najib Bin Tun Razak's visit to Manjung District today, I would like to expose that Dato’ Seri Zambry Bin Abdul Kadir has approved 147.84 acres of land, almost the whole of the Lumut town land belonging to the State to be developed by Kinta Berkat Sdn Bhd, the same company that was approved to develop the above said 6 acres land in the Sitiawan Town Centre.

The people have the right to know why such a huge development was approved to Kinta Berkat Sdn Bhd without a open tender. What are the terms for the above said development?

The people demand that Dato’ Seri Zambry Bin Abdul Kadir be transparent with regard to the above said projects. If Dato’ Seri Zambry wants to hold public office, he has a duty to answer the people, failing which he must resign.

The Prime Minister who was instrumental in installing Dato’ Seri Zambry Bin Abdul Kadir as the Menteri Besar of Perak must insists that Dato’ Seri Zambry Bin Abdul Kadir discloses fully the terms of the above said projects otherwise, his purported transformation programs are mere rhetorics!

Exposure on ‘BN Sapu Tanah Negeri. Tiada yang Tertinggal. Tiada yang Terpinggir'

Questionable approval of a 6 acres piece of prime land in the Town of Sitiawan by BN Perak State Government. Dato Seri Zambry Bin Abdul Kadir required to answer 7 questions.

At the State Assembly on 25th September 2012, my question asking the BN Perak State Government to list out the lands that have been approved since their grab of power on 6/2/2009 until now was reject on a ridiculous ground that the same can be obtained from normal reference books. We all know that the answer cannot be found in any reference book. The real reason behind the refusal to answer is that the land approvals by BN Perak Government are questionable.

An answer given by the State Government in the State Assembly on 15/8/2011                     stated that the BN Perak Government had approved 68,503 acres of during a short period of 29 months from    6/2/2009 to July 2011 at very cheap premium rates. Thereafter, the BN Perak Government has refused to entertain any more questions on lands approved by the State Government.

Some UMNO members and internal sources could not stand what is going on and have now supplied PR Leaders with information on what is happening in Perak administration and they aptly describe what is happening as ‘BN Sapu tanah Negeri. Tiada yang Tertinggal. Tiada yang Terpinggir’, an adaption of BN’s slogan purportedly caring for the people of Perak.

The PR Government’s policy is to use state land to provide for the public, to provide public utilities and infrastructures for the people. In cases where there is a need to jointly develop a piece of land with the private sector we will have a transparent open tender system to enable to get people to get the best deal out of the land.

Today I am exposing the first questionable land approval by the BN Perak Government. There are many more to come.

This involve a choice 6 acres piece of land in the centre of Sitiawan town. It is a depot of the Manjung Town Council (MPM) with also 44 units of Government quarters. It was on the surface approved to Manjung Town Council but with an expressed condition that it be developed by Kinta Berkat Sdn Bhd, a private company without an open tender. The land is located next to Crystal Hotel and opposite the Store Supermarket.

The premium to be paid under the Perak Land Rules was RM4,729,587-00 but the BN Perak Government  reduced it to a nominal a sum of RM1,000 per lot or RM52,000-00 for the 52 lots on the said land after subdivision. A vacant commercial lot in this location is worth about RM300,000-00. Therefore, had it been subdivided and sold it would have reaped the State Government a handsome sum of about RM15,600,000-00. In a joint venture situation State Government should be getting a better value for the said land.

Manjung Town Council will have to replace (build) the 44 government quarters and the depot that were demolished under the condition for the approval of the said land.

The said land application was said to have by passed the land office.
The following questions arise that need BN Perak Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Zambry Bin Abdul Kadir to answer in order to be accountable to the people of Perak:

(i)                 Why was an open tender not called for the said project?

(ii)               Why was Kinta Berkat Sdn Bhd chosen to undertake the project and not any other company?

(iii)             Was the reduction of premium from RM4,729,587-00 to a nominal sum of RM52,000-00 meant to ultimately benefit Kinta Berkat Sdn Bhd ?

(iv)             Why the land application did not follow the normal procedure of going through the land office?

(v)             Who will bear the costs of building the 44 units of government quarters and the depot? Will public funds be used?

(vi)     Will MPM and the BN Perak Government agree to disclose the terms of the joint venture agreement between MPM and Kinta Berkat Sdn Bhd?

(vii)           What is the relationship of the shareholders of Kinta Berkat Sdn Bhd with Dato’ Seri Zambry Bin Abdul Kadir?

The people demands answers to the abovesaid questions. Unless Dato’ Seri Zambry answers the abovesaid questions satisfactorily, we know here is another project benefitting BN’s crony at the expense of the people. Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Najib Bin Tun Razak who was the mastermind behind Dato’ Seri Zambry Bin Abdul Kadir’s Perak power grab on 6/2/009 is also answerable to the people of Perak.
